Distortion

Amplitude
Distortion occurs when output amplitude is not a
linear function of input amplitude. Now because "output
amplitude is a linear function of input amplitude"
hence it causes this amplitude distortion. It is of
2 types
Harmonic Distortion
Intermodulation Distortion
It is caused due to
sine waves resulting in making several other
frequency components
