Cathode Ray Tube

Cathode Ray Tube is Commonly called CRT Tube. It is a Vacuum Tube which has Electron gun and also a fluorescent screen where the beam strikes. There X-X plates and Y-Y Plates for beam deflection. This section is called Deflecting section. Now Flat panel Displays and Liquid Crystal Displays Have  replaced CRT's.

First the electron beam is thrown by electron guns which is then focused and deflected and we see it on the phosphor coated screen. In Televisions entire area of Vacuum Tube is scanned line by line called raster scan. In random scan only those areas are beamed where we need the picture from the buffer.
