Duty Cycle of a Square
Wave

Duty Cycle=Pulse Duration/Pulse Period
Suppose Pulse duration
is 5us and Pulse Period is
10us then its duty
cycle can be computed as=
5/10=0.2
Hence the duty cycle of
Square Wave is 0.2 or 20 %.Another e.g=Suppose there is
a display which displays time for 5 secs and is off for
95 secs out of say 100 secs then its duty cycle can be
computed as 5/100=0.5 or 5%.
This particular configuration is for an
astable
square
wave calculation.
In other words, you may be aware that no
even harmonics are present in the expansion of a
square
wave with a 50%
duty
cycle
