ISDN-Integrated Services Digital Network
ISDN is a telecommunications
standard used which promises to simplify digital
communication of various types, including data, voice, and
video. There are two types of ISDN packages.
Basic Rate Interface
It carries a pair of
64-kilo-bit per second digital channels and one 16
kilo-bit-per-second control channel. Each of digital channels
can be connected to up to eight serial devices such as
personal computers, terminals and Fax Machines.
Primary Rate Interface
The second ISDN package is
known as PRI.It carries twenty three 64-kilobit-per-second
digital channels and one 64-kilo-bitper second control
channel. This channel is designed for business
