Transformer
Stepup-Stepdown

A transformer is device used
to transfer electrical energy from one circuit
to another with help of capacitors. Transformers
can be step-up transformers or step-down
transformers. A changing current in the primary
circuit generates a magnetic field. This
magnetic field induces a changing voltage in the
secondary circuit. This process is called
mutual induction.When
we have more secondary winding turns than
primary winding turns it is a Step up
Transformer. Transformer that increases voltage
from primary to secondary is called a step-up
transformer. Similarly, a transformer designed
to do just the opposite is called a step-down
transformer.

The transformer is based on
two rules: Electromagnetism and Electromagnetic
induction.
1.An electric current can
produce a magnetic field.
2.A changing magnetic field
within a coil of wire induces a voltage across
the ends of the coil.
The EMF of a transformer at a
particular flux density increases with
frequency.
