Potentiometer Sensors
The term potentiometer comes from the late 19th
century when it was used as a precision means of
providing reference voltages. Elements available for use
in potentiometers are Wire, Carbon Composition, & metal
film.
Piezoresistive Strain Gages
A strain gage is a piezoresistive element either
wire, metal foil or semiconductor, after applying force
changes resistance. The resistance of any specific
conductor is directly proportional to its length and
inversely proportional to its cross sectional area
